Khajuraho Arrival & Evening Sightseeing

Arrive at Khajuraho and transfer to hotel. After some rest proceed to Sound & Light Show. The Light and Sound show on the Western Group of temples complex reminds the life and times of the great Chandela Kings and mark out the story of the exclusive temples from the 10th Century to the present day. The 50-minute fascinating show is worth attending. Overnight stay at hotel.

Khajuraho Sightseeing

Post breakfast proceed for sightseeing. Visit the legendary temples including Chitragupta Temple, Devi Jagdamba Temple and Adinath Temple that are supposed to be constructed in the 9th and 10th century A.D by Chandela rulers. These temples are famous for their unique and ancient engravings. Later visit Kalinjar Fort; an old fort that was believed to be the heart of the Chandella kingdom in the 10th century. Ajaigarh Fort; an ancient fort that believed to have five gates initially, but now has only two gates, two rock-cut tanks and two temples. In addition, three ruined Jain temples have also been spotted in Ajaigarh fort and are designed in Khajuraho style. Also visit Vaman Temple and Parsvanth Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

Khajuraho Orchha via Jatashankar Dham (Approx 260 Kms / 05 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast checkout and proceed to visit the Western Group of Khajuraho which comprise of 14 gorgeous temples including Matangesvara, Chaunsath Yogini, Kandariya Mahadeo, Varaha, Parvati, Lalguan Mahadev, Lakshmana, Nandi, Chitragupta Devi and Jagdamba. Later drive to Orchha with en-route visit to Jata Shankar Dham temple near Dilari village Bijawar (50 KM from Chhatarpur). Arrive at Orchha by late evening and check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Orchha Sightseeing

Post breakfast visit historical Town of Orchha. Visit Jehangir Mahal, Ram Raja Temple, Raja Mahal, Cenotaphs and Chaturbhuj Temple, Phool Bag, Chandrashekhar Azad Memorial and Rani Mahal. Overnight stay at hotel.

Orchha Gwalior via Jhansi & Shivpuri (Approx 230 Kms / 05 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast check out and and proceed to Gwalior. On the way visit Jhansi Fort, The Cenotaph of Raja Gangadhar Rao and St. Jude's Shrine at Jhansi. Also visit Bhadaiya Kund (Natural Spring), Scindias’s Chatri, Sakhya Sagar Lake and The Madhav Vilas Palace at Shivpuri. Arrive at Gwalior by night and check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Gwalior Sightseeing & Departure

After breakfast check out and proceed for sightseeing of Gwalior. This historic city offers an introduction to the medieval dynastic politics of the region. Passed from the Tomars to the Mughals and to the Marathas and then to the Scindias, the city has seen its fair share of change over the years. Still, many of its historic fortifications and palaces remain well-preserved or have been rebuilt to a high standard.

Sightseeing Includes:

Gwalior Fort - This fort spreads out over an area of 3 square km, surrounded by concrete walls of sandstone. The Gwalior fort encloses three temples, six palaces and numerous water tanks. Jai Vilas Palace & Museum - A nineteenth-century palace placed in Gwalior Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established in 1874 by Jayajirao Scindia, the Maharaja of Gwalior and is still the residence of his descendants, the former royal Maratha Scindia dynasty.

Gujari Mahal (State Archaeological Museum) - Built by Man Singh in the 15th century for his favorite wife Mrignayani, Gujari Mahal is now in ruins and also an archaeological museum as it showcases various sculptures, statues and other remains dating back to 1st and 2nd century BC. Man Mandir Palace - The palace couldn't survive with time, however the remains of the palace still showcases the beautiful carvings and designs of that era.

Saas Bahu Temple - Built in the 9th century, the Saas Bahu temple attracts tourists and devotees alike. Contrary to what the name suggests, the Saas Bahu Temple does not mean Saas( mother-in-law) and bahu(daughter-in-law) but is rather a short form of Shastra Bahu, another name of Lord Vishnu. After sightseeing take a drop to Airport / Railway Station for return journey.
