Indore Arrival & Sightseeing

Arrive at Indore Airport / Railway Station and transfer to the hotel. Later proceed to visit Indore city. This city is known as the city of "The Holkar Dynasty". The city was built by a Holkar Rani Ahilya Bai, one of the famous queens in Indian History. Upon arrival check into the hotel and later proceed to visit some of the famous historical monuments and religious centers; Rajwada, Kanch Mandir and Bada Ganapati.

The Rajwada or the Old Palace is located in the old city; the building is a blend of French, Mughal and Maratha architecture. This 200 year old palace belonged to the Holkar dynasty. The Kanch Mandir (Glass Temple), which is a Jain Mandir (temple), is a marvel in glass. The walls, ceiling, floor, pillars, doors are entirely inlaid with glass creating a stunning kaleidoscope of reflections.

Bada Ganapati, better known for its size than antiquity, this temple houses perhaps the largest Ganesh idol in the world measuring 25 feet from crown to foot. It was built in 1875. Overnight stay at hotel.

Full Day Excursion to Omkareshwar & Maheshwar (Approx 250 Kms / 05 Hrs - 07 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast proceed for full day excursion tour to Omkareshwar and Maheshwar. Omkareshwar is the sacred island shaped like the holiest of all Hindu symbols, ‘Om’. On arrival visit Omkareshwar Jyothirlinga Temple, situated on the banks of river Narmada, and is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlingas shrines of Shiva.

The significance of this Linga is that the Linga is not situated below the cupola. The idol of Lord Shiva is situated on the top of the temple. The temple can be reached by ferry from the banks of the river. Also visit Kedareshwar Temple & 13th Century Siddhanath Temple.

Later continue journey to Maheshwar. Maheshwar is a historical town on the banks of river Narmada known for temples, mighty fort-complex standing in quiet beauty. On arrival visit Holkar Fort; once the opulent palace of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar which the reason why it is also known as the Queen's fort. Then visit Mandleshwar; town of temples situated on the bank of the Narmada River, mentioned in the Hindu epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata as a splendid city also known as Mahishmati. Also visit Narmada Ghat , Rajwada and other places. By night back to Indore.

Full Day Excursion to Mandu (Approx 200 Kms / 04 Hrs - 05 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast proceed for full day excursion tour to Mandu. The grandiose and remarkable architecture of Mandu makes it one of the places having the most impressive collection of Afghan art in India.

Indore Ujjain & Sightseeing (Approx 60 Kms / 01 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast check out and drive to Ujjain. On arrival visit Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga; temple dedicated to the largely revered God - Lord Shiva. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India and is designed just as intricately as the other 11 are. Then visit Kal Bhairava Temple; the most important among the eight Bhairavas. If ancient scriptures are to be believed, Kal Bhairav temple is said to be related with the Tantra cult, a secret religious sect who thrived upon black magic. Next point of visit will be Ram Mandir Ghat; one of the four locations where the Kumbh Mela takes place every 12 years. Also visit Sandipani Ashram; where Lord Krishna and His brother Balaram & their friend Sudama went for enriching their knowledge as students and Harsiddhi Temple; an idol of Annapurna painted in dark red color between the idols of Mahasaraswati and Mahalaxmi. Overnight stay at hotel.

Ujjain Bhopal & Sanchi Excursion Tour (Approx 290 Kms / 05 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast checkout and proceed to Bhopal. On arrival proceed to visit Sanchi Stupa which is at 46 Kms from Bhopal. It is unique for having the most perfect and well-preserved Buddhist Stupas. The remains of Buddhist saints Sariputra and Mahamodgilya are also preserved here. The holy relics are displayed once a year during the annual Chetiyagiri Vihar festival. By evening back to Bhopal and Bhojtal (Upper Lake) and Birla Mandir. Overnight stay at hotel.

Bhopal Pachmarhi via Bhojpur & Bhimbetka Rock Shelters (Approx 215 Kms / 05 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast check out and drive to Pachmarhi. En-route visit the town of Bhojpur; rich with immense historical and religious importance. It was founded by the legendary Parmara king, Raja Bhoj. Visit the popular Shiva Temple and the Cyclopean Dam. The temple is richly carved and intricately designed and speaks about the craftsmanship of the local artists. This incomplete temple is a proof of the rich culture and heritage of the region.

Later visit Bhimbetka. This site has second oldest cave paintings in the world. The location is beautiful, along the Satpura range of mountains. The area around the caves is forested, which adds to the natural beauty. The Bhimbetka rock shelters exhibit the earliest traces of human life in India; its Stone Age rock paintings are approximately 9,000 years old, making them among the world’s oldest. Later continue driving to Pachmarhi. On arrival check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Pachmarhi Sightseeing

After breakfast proceed for the most popular attractions of Pachmarhi such as Priyadarshini (Forsyth Point) - the point from where Captain James Forsyth discovered Pachmarhi in the year 1857, Bee Falls - beautiful waterfall which provides drinking water to the entire Pachmarhi, Jata Shankar Caves - are considered sacred as they are popularly believed to be the place where Lord Shiva concealed himself from the wrath of Bhasmasur, Pandava Caves - these caves are believed to provide shelter to the Pandavas during their exile period, Handi Khoh- a huge ravine with thick woodland and a cliff of 300 feet which is known to have connection with Lord Shiva and Fairy pool- also known as Apsara Vihar- it is a small waterfall (30 feet high) and a naturally formed pool, Chauragarh - Pachmarhi's second highest peak with a Lord Shiva temple and Chauragarh fort and Dhoopgarh- highest point in Satpura ranges known as famous sunrise and sunset view point. Overnight stay at hotel.

Pachmarhi Jabalpur via Bhedaghat & Dhuandhar Water Falls (Approx 260 Kms / 06 Hrs - 07 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast check out and drive to Jabalpur. En-route visit Bhedaghat Marble Rocks; the humongous limestone and magnesium rocks flank the river Narmada giving it the tourists an ethereal view of the many scenic locales that Bhedaghat has to offer. Boating in this setting during a moonlit night would surely make up for an unforgettable experience. Later visit thunderous Dhuandhar Eater Falls which will take you a different level of brilliance.

Jabalpur Bandhavgarh (Approx 170 Kms / 03 Hrs - 04 Hrs Drive)

Post early morning breakfast check out and proceed to Bandhavgarh; an important tiger reserve of the state. On arrival check in hotel. Late noon enjoy the adventurous ride of Jeep Safari in Bandhavagarh National Park. Although the reserve has a high tiger population, spotting animals, especially larger mammals is quite a rare opportunity. You will have the chance to spotting animals like Gaur, Nilgai, Sambar Indian Leopard, Barking deer etc. After safari through the deeper zones of the park region, you will be taken back to the resort. Overnight stay at hotel.

Bandhavgarh Panna (Approx 190 Kms / 04 Hrs - 05 Hrs Drive)

Early in the morning, you will be taken on a jeep safari to the park. You will be picked up from your resort on a jeep and taken on a guided tour through the park. The morning safari covers dense location of the park allowing you to spot tigers and other mammals. Later back to hotel for breakfast. After freshen up check out and proceed to Panna National Park. Arrive at Panna National Park and check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Panna Jeep Safari Khajuraho (Approx 50 Kms / 01 Hr Drive)

Early morning proceed for Jeep Safari at Panna National Park. The region is home to some of the best wildlife species in India and is one of the most famous Tiger Reserves in the country. The park is known worldwide for its wild cats, including Tigers as well as Deer and Antelope. Due to its closeness to one of the best-known Indian tourist attraction in India, Khajuraho, the park is recognized as an exciting stop-over destination. After Safari back to hotel for breakfast. After refreshment checkout and proceed to Khajuraho; recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for sheltering many ancient temples and historical places of public interest. It is one of the major pilgrim centers in India that is visited by thousands of tourists from across the globe. Arrive at Khajuraho and check in hotel. Later in evening your sightseeing begins with visit local market, some shopping and later attend evening light & sound show where you will be introduced to Khajuraho temples discovery, history and associated myths. Khajuraho Orchha via Jatashankar Dham (Approx 260 Kms / 05 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast checkout and proceed to visit the Western Group of Khajuraho which comprise of 14 gorgeous temples including Matangesvara, Chaunsath Yogini, Kandariya Mahadeo, Varaha, Parvati, Lalguan Mahadev, Lakshmana, Nandi, Chitragupta Devi and Jagdamba. Later drive to Orchha with en-route visit to Jata Shankar Dham temple near Dilari village Bijawar (50 KM from Chhatarpur). Arrive at Orchha by late evening and check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Orchha Gwalior via Shivpuri (Approx 230 Kms / 05 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast check out and visit historical Town of Orchha. Visit Jehangir Mahal, Ram Raja Temple, Raja Mahal, Cenotaphs and Chaturbhuj Temple. Later drive to Gwalior en-route visiting Madhav National Park, Bhadaiya Kund (Natural Spring), Scindias’s Chatri, Sakhya Sagar Lake and The Madhav Vilas Palace at Shivpuri. Arrive at Gwalior by night and check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Gwalior Sightseeing & Departure

After breakfast check out and proceed for sightseeing of Gwalior. This historic city offers an introduction to the medieval dynastic politics of the region. Passed from the Tomars to the Mughals and to the Marathas and then to the Scindias, the city has seen its fair share of change over the years. Still, many of its historic fortifications and palaces remain well-preserved or have been rebuilt to a high standard.

Sightseeing Includes:

Gwalior Fort - This fort spreads out over an area of 3 square km, surrounded by concrete walls of sandstone. The Gwalior fort encloses three temples, six palaces and numerous water tanks. Jai Vilas Palace & Museum - A nineteenth-century palace placed in Gwalior Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established in 1874 by Jayajirao Scindia, the Maharaja of Gwalior and is still the residence of his descendants, the former royal Maratha Scindia dynasty.

Gujari Mahal (State Archaeological Museum) - Built by Man Singh in the 15th century for his favorite wife Mrignayani, Gujari Mahal is now in ruins and also an archaeological museum as it showcases various sculptures, statues and other remains dating back to 1st and 2nd century BC. Man Mandir Palace - The palace couldn't survive with time, however the remains of the palace still showcases the beautiful carvings and designs of that era.

Saas Bahu Temple - Built in the 9th century, the Saas Bahu temple attracts tourists and devotees alike. Contrary to what the name suggests, the Saas Bahu Temple does not mean Saas( mother-in-law) and bahu(daughter-in-law) but is rather a short form of Shastra Bahu, another name of Lord Vishnu. After sightseeing take a drop to Airport / Railway Station for return journey.
