Unexplored Arunachal Pradesh

Guwahati Arrival Itanagar (Approx 330 Kms / 07 Hrs - 09 Hrs Drive)

Morning arrival at Guwahati airport and transfer to Itanagar; the capital city of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Itanagar is situated at the foothills of Himalayas. On arrival visit Interesting places around are historical fort called Ita Fort which dates back to the 15th century, Legendary Ganga Lake or Gyakar Sinyi, the new Buddhist temple known as Buddha Vihar and the Tribal Museum. By night check in to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Itanagar to Ziro (Approx 140 Kms / 04 Hrs - 06 Hrs Drive)

After breakfast checkout and head to Ziro. En-route visit the Nishi Tribal villages. The Nishi are the largest groups of people inhabiting the major part of Lower Subansiri district. A Nishi can be easily distinguished by his dress peculiar to his tribe as their menfolk wear their hair long and tie it in a knot just above the forehead. They wear cane bands around the waist. A neatly woven cane cap which they call Bopia on his head, a knot at the forehead called Padum with a cane basket looks like haversack call Nara, a smoking pipe in his mouth and a long Dao (long bladed knife) he looks like a proud man, proud of his race and tradition. The Nishi villages are rarely found in clusters. The tribe as a whole is fond of hunting and fishing in which they perhaps excel any other neighboring tribes. Further, continue drive to Ziro. On arrival, check into the hotel / guest house. Overnight stay at hotel / guest house.

Ziro Village Tour

After breakfast proceed for full day excursion to the Apatani tribal villages to have the glimpse of their art, culture and livelihood. The Apatani are good cultivators and practice both wet and terrace cultivation. Paddy cum fish culture is very popular among them and they are very stable in economy unlike the other tribes. The people of this tribal are well settled agriculturists inhabiting the valley around Ziro. Here, you will see the older men-folk tie the hair in top-knots and tattoo the faces. Wearing of circular nose plugs and tattooing of faces is the most characteristic aspect of ornamentation of older Apatani women. However, the new generations of Apatani men and women have stopped this practice of tying hair knot, nose plugs and face tattooing since early 1970. Also visit Meghna Cave Temple, Kile Pakho (one of the high mountain ridge is just 7 Kms from Ziro and is rich in biological diversity with flora and fauna) etc. Later, return to the hotel. Ziro Daporijo (Approx 170 Kms / 07 Hrs - 08 Hrs Drive)

After breakfast checkout and proceed to Daporijo. En-route to Daporijo visit the villages for Tagin and Hill Miri villages. Hill Miri is a variety of the Miri language spoken by some 10,000 people in the hilly area of central Arunachal Pradesh. Hill Miri is widely spoken by all but the school-age generation of children, who appear to have abandoned the language in at least some villages. Thus Hill Miri must be considered at best threatened and in some areas to already be an endangered language. Continue to Daporijo. On arrival, check into the hotel. In the evening, explore the local market. Overnight stay at hotel.

Daporijo Aalo (Approx 160 Kms / 06 Hrs - 08 Hrs Drive)

After breakfast visit the villages of the Tagin Tribe and get to know about their unique tribal culture and way of living. Here, you will be visiting some breathtaking scenic places. Later drive to Aalo; Land of Adi & Adi Gallonng People. Aalo is a town and headquarter of the West Siang district of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Mopin is the main festival starts from 5 April to 6 April, people celebrate Mopin for rich crops cultivation and to blessed by nature. The Yomgo River Festival, held every year during peak tourist season, and lasting 3–4 days, is celebrated from 11 January to 15 January. This festival is celebrated with a view to promote tourism, indigenous culture and tradition, handloom & handicrafts and showcase its rich cultural heritage. Evening free to stroll around the market area. Overnight stay at hotel.

Aalo Excursion & Activities

Post breakfast full day at Along exploring Adi villages. It is situated near Assam’s border. The valley is picturesque surrounded by mountains with rivers flowing through them. The place has various attractions like Kane Wildlife Sanctuary, wild species such as elephants and deer. The Hanging Bridge on River Siang is made of cane and bamboo. One can go for river rafting and trekking. Evening free to stroll around the market area. Overnight stay at hotel.

Aalo Pasighat (Approx 130 Kms / 02 Hrs - 04 Hrs Drive)

Post breakfast checkout and proceed to Pasighat; located on the banks of Siang River at an elevation of 155 meters . On the way to Pasighat, explore the villages for Adi Gallong & Adi Minyong. Further, continue drive to Pasighat. On arrival, check into the hotel. One can also explore the Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary. The extraordinary ecosystem of water bodies is home to thousands of migratory birds from Siberia and Mongolia. Overnight stay at hotel.

Pasighat Dibrugarh by Ferry (Approx 150 Kms / 05 Hrs)

After breakfast checkout and leave for Dibrugarh. From Ferry Ghat (boat point) and from here take a boat to reach Dibrugarh. During river cruise you will cross the mighty river Brahmaputra and enjoy the country made ferry. The 05 hrs long ferry will take you to Dibrugarh. The river Brahmaputra is the confluence of the Siang and Lohit river of Arunachal Pradesh. The ferry service Pasighat to Dibrugarh is a lifeline for these tribes. On arrival check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Departure from Dibrugarh

Early Morning breakfast proceed to witness how the tea leaves are plucked and you can also try plucking tea. Learn about the process of tea manufacturing by visiting a Tea Factory. Later drop at Dibrugarh Railway Station / Airport for your return journey.
